South Africa’s most popular show partners with Clientèle Legal

“Fooled by Love” has taken South Africa and its social media platforms by storm. Loosely based on ‘The Tinder Swindler,’ it is a uniquely South African take on the universal narrative of how love and money do not always go hand in hand.
From taking out a R150,000 loan to gift to a girlfriend to paying your own lobola, the docu-reality series, Fooled By Love showcases the true stories of people who lost big thanks to their love life. Clientèle Legal is the proud sponsor of this series which airs every Monday at 18h00 on SABC1. Every week, “Mr Rights’, on behalf of Clientèle Legal. provides some valuable insights and legal tips.
Laura Botha, Group Marketing Executive says the collaboration is a comfortable fit. “It is an opportunity for the brand to show that it is human and relevant and can make a positive contribution to all aspects of life, including difficult situations like dealing with lending money to a loved one,” she says. We are very excited about the project. The feedback has been great. It has had enormous educational value and people feel more legally empowered. Our message is that while one might not be able to protect your heart, you can protect your money.”

Mmpume Mthethwa, Commissioning editor for SABC1 says the success of the show was evident from the first episode: “It trended on Twitter instantly and showed high viewership figures. It is important that we do our part in nation building by providing people with solutions to their problems. This programme achieves that; It is authentic, truly South African and informative. “
Mthethwa says it is for this reason that sponsorship with Clientèle Legal works perfectly. “Clientèle Legal has brought a special touch to the show, in that they have made the law accessible and easy to understand. We receive positive feedback on this segment of the show and look forward to a long-lasting partnership.”

Fooled by love airs every Monday @18h00 on SABC1.
