Clientèle Plans cover COVID-19*

Times are uncertain and tough, now more than ever, South Africans need an insurer they can trust. We have been safeguarding our clients’ worlds for more than 25 years and will continue to do so through this pandemic and beyond. We have waived waiting periods on our Funeral plans for COVID-19 claims for plans taken from now until the end of June 2021. New and existing clients will be covered immediately for COVID-19 funeral claims once we receive their first premium and when the premiums are up to date.
*Pre-existing COVID-19 related conditions will be subjected to standard waiting periods and all other policy Ts & Cs remain.

Clientèle COVID-19 Funeral Benefit
COVID-19 is affecting the world, and the impact has been devastating. In these times, we are still committed to meeting our clients’ needs and ensuring that they have the peace of mind they deserve.

To safeguard our clients, we have removed waiting periods for COVID-19 funeral claims. This means that if you have a funeral policy or take out a new funeral policy before the end of April 2021, you will be covered for any COVID-19 funeral claim immediately as long as you pay your first premium and every premium thereafter on time. New policyholders must not have been diagnosed with COVID-19 prior to taking out the policy for the waiting period to be waived.

During this period of uncertainty, you can rely on Clientèle to always be there for you, now and into the future. Remember to also protect yourself and loved ones by following all the COVID-19 precautionary measures as recommended by the World Health Organisation: wash your hands regularly, avoid contact with infected people, cover up coughs and sneezes and practice social distancing.

The only funeral plan that pays back all your premiums. Your beneficiaries receive the full cover amount plus all the premiums for the deceased member, with a valid death claim.

  • Pays between R15,000 and R100,000;
  • Up to R100,000 individual cover;
  • Up to R500,000 family cover;
  • 3 Children covered at no additional cost;
  • Pays within 24 hours;
  • R200 airtime when you claim;
  • Includes grocery, unveiling and transport benefit;
  • Cover up to 13 people on 1 plan;
  • 24 Hour funeral helpline;
  • Half of your premiums back at age 65: Clientèle now gives you the option to receive 50% of your premiums back in cash at the age of 65. The money can be used to ease the pressure of not earning an income anymore. The remaining 50% of premiums paid will be paid back to the beneficiaries upon death. This benefit only applies to members who join before the age of 50.

Funeral Claims Process

In the event of a death, you will need to lodge a claim on the deceased person’s insurance policy so that it can be assessed.

Clientèle has made it simple for you to claim by giving you the option to choose the method you are most comfortable with:

  • Contact our Call Centre on 011 320 3000;
  • Fax us on 011 320 3170;
  • SMS your Policy Number to 31041 (Standard rates apply);
  • Complete the call me back form on the right hand side and a consultant will call you;
  • Visit us at the Clientèle Head Office: Clientèle Office Park, Cnr. Alon and Rivonia Road, Rivonia, Morningside;
  • E-mail claims@clientele.co.za.

You can help speed up the claims assessment process by having the following documents ready when lodging a Funeral Claim:

  • A certified copy of the death certificate;
  • Certified copies of deceased's ID;
  • Certified copies of beneficiary's ID.

Please note that we may require additional information / documentation dependent on the individual circumstances in order to assess the claim.
